About AAP
Founded by Arvind Kejriwal in November 2012, growing out of the 2011 India Against Corruption anti-graft movement. AAP first governed Delhi for 49 days in December 2013 before resigning, then won a landslide in 2015 and governed until 2024, when Kejriwal resigned amid a corruption case and was succeeded by Atishi; AAP lost the Delhi government to the BJP in the 2025 election. Separately, AAP swept Punjab in 2022 under Bhagwant Mann, who remains Chief Minister there.
