About AJSU Party
Founded in 1986, modelled on the All Assam Students Union, growing out of the movement for a separate Jharkhand state (achieved in 2000). Later became an electoral party under Sudesh Mahto, who served two terms as Jharkhand's Deputy Chief Minister in NDA-aligned coalition governments. Remains a persistent NDA coalition partner in Jharkhand.
