Formed in 1985 by 11 members who split from the All Party Hill Leaders Conference and the Hill State People's Democratic Party after their coalition government fell. Won 19 of 60 Meghalaya Assembly seats in 1988, falling to 11 in 1993, before merging into the United Democratic Party (not separately tracked in this dataset) in 1997.
