About IUML
Founded in 1948 as the Indian successor to the All-India Muslim League, initially led by M. Muhammad Ismail. IUML has never independently held the Chief Minister's post, but since allying with the INC in 1976 it has been a founding and consistent partner in Kerala's United Democratic Front, regularly holding senior cabinet ministries whenever the UDF forms the state government.
