About PPA

Founded in September 1977 as Arunachal Pradesh's early opposition to Congress dominance. Tomo Riba, a former Congress minister, led its first, very short-lived government in 1979. The party re-emerged nationally in 2016 when Kalikho Pul, after the Supreme Court reinstated 14 disqualified MLAs during a state political crisis, was sworn in as Chief Minister — his term lasted five months before Congress rule was restored.
