About SDF
Founded in 1993 by Pawan Kumar Chamling, who led it to power in Sikkim in December 1994 and governed continuously for over 24 years — the longest unbroken chief-ministerial tenure in India at the time. The party collapsed in the 2019 election, losing all but one of its 32 contested seats to the breakaway Sikkim Krantikari Morcha.
